Applications for the Crime Victims Compensation Program (CVCP) are processed by staff remotely. New applications can be:
- Emailed to CVCPapplications [at] DCSC.gov
- Submitted at 515 5th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001, Monday-Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Submitted at one of the Court’s Balanced and Restorative Justice Centers located in the District of Columbia. Click here for the locations and hours of the community sites.

If you need help completing an application or have questions about your application, staff is available Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. via telephone at (202) 879-4216.
Eligible claimants can pick up food and metro cards at 515 5th Street, NW, Washington DC 20001, at the following times:
- Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Compensable expenses include, but are not limited to, funeral and burial costs, medical and mental health expenses, lost wages, loss of support, crime scene clean up, and temporary emergency shelter and relocation. Crime Victims Compensation staff conduct interviews to determine needs, process claims, and provide referrals to other victim service agencies in the District. The Crime Victims Compensation Program is funded by fines and fees paid to the DC Courts.

The public information viewed on the Court Cases Online system reflects the docket entries in civil, criminal, criminal domestic violence and tax cases, probate cases for large estates and small estates, disclaimers of interest, major litigation, wills and foreign estate proceedings.
